Flying Lesson #55

The ceiling was too low to go on a cross-country or out to the practice area, so my instructor and I did pattern work, practicing short- and soft-field takeoffs and landings. My landings during my last flight were pretty bad, but today's were OK. Maybe I was just having a bad day last time, or maybe I was having trouble due to optical illusions at that other airport—Cherokee County airport is on top of a hill, so it is hard to judge altitude above the runway.

Logged today: 1.0 hours dual in N9103M, with 7 takeoffs and 6 landings (the instructor demonstrated one landing). Cost: $205.

Seven lessons to go . . .
